We’ve been undergoing lots of changes around here, between personally rolling with the times during pandemic election season & mixing it up here in the office (hint: new masks might be rolling out soon). One of the best developments of late has been the idea for this publication right here: your source for what’s happening right now Corona-wise. Our idea is that we prepare you for all that’s going on out in the world, with both up to date information and face coverings to navigate it.
Current stats as of 11/4:
On Nov. 4th 2020, the U.S. has reported over 90,000 new cases in a week for the second time (source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2020/11/04/covid-news-kentucky-wisconsin-record-cases-europe-lockdown/6140388002/ )
By looking at the projected health data at this moment for Thanksgiving 2020 (November 26th), there will be 258,941 deaths if things continue as they are. If mandates were to ease, then there’d be 259,134 deaths. There’s not too much gap between those; however if we were to universal mask as a country there would only be 256,337 deaths. There is a significant gap there (source: https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america?view=total-deaths&tab=trend )
Out of the 9,702,484 cases total in the U.S., 6,237,659 have recovered from the virus. (source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ )
MOST IMPORTANT: This has been repeated many times by now but the virus spreads through respiratory droplets. If someone touches their nose then touches a surface which you then touch, you can get the virus. Cell phones are held up to our faces and they touch all sorts of surfaces. Be sure to disinfect your cell phone regularly. Masks are the most recommended way to protect yourself from droplets entering your mucus membranes.
